When businesses bring me in

Most businesses do not need another supplier waiting for perfectly prepared tickets. They need someone who can understand the situation, identify what matters and take responsibility for moving it forward.

No one owns the full technical picture

Your website, integrations, hosting and ongoing development may be handled by different suppliers or internal teams, leaving decisions fragmented and important work without a clear owner. I can bring those pieces together, take responsibility for the technical direction and establish a practical way forward.

Important improvements keep being postponed

Marketing has campaigns to launch, sales needs better lead flows and internal teams have ideas—but technical work repeatedly becomes the bottleneck. I can turn those requirements into working, maintainable solutions.

You need senior expertise, but not a full-time hire

Many businesses need consistent technical ownership without having enough work for an internal senior developer. An ongoing engagement provides access to the right level of expertise without adding permanent headcount.

Technical ownership across teams

A workstream crosses product, engineering and commercial stakeholders and needs someone senior enough to facilitate communication, clarify requirements, make decisions and carry it through testing and release.

The website works, but no longer performs

The site may be technically operational while still being slow, difficult to edit, weak in search or disconnected from the systems your business uses. I can improve the platform without defaulting to an unnecessary rebuild.

The platform is becoming a business risk

An outdated Umbraco version, neglected dependencies or fragile custom code eventually becomes a security and continuity problem. I can assess the current solution, prioritize the risks and plan a controlled upgrade or replacement.

One person accountable from requirement to release

I work directly with the people closest to the business requirement—whether that is marketing, sales, management or an internal technical team.

My role can cover the complete path from identifying the problem to delivering and maintaining the solution:

  1. Understand the requirement
Establish what the business is trying to achieve, what is getting in the way and which constraints matter.

  2. Define the right solution
Translate the requirement into a practical technical approach, including scope, dependencies, risks and priorities.

  3. Implement and release
Build the solution across the front end, back end and data layer, test it properly and take responsibility for deployment.

  4. Measure and improve
Review how the solution performs in practice and continue improving it as the business changes.

You retain visibility throughout, but you should not have to manage every technical detail to keep the work moving.

Where I can take technical ownership

Umbraco and .NET development

Development and extension of Umbraco websites, custom .NET functionality, content structures, editorial tools and integrations. I work with both established platforms and current Umbraco versions, including Umbraco 17.

Ongoing platform improvement

A structured backlog of maintenance, improvements and commercial priorities—planned and delivered continuously instead of allowing technical debt and unfinished requests to accumulate.

Upgrades, security and platform health

Assessment and modernization of aging Umbraco installations, dependency updates, security improvements and upgrade planning. The goal is a stable platform with a supportable future, not merely a newer version number.

Performance, technical SEO and accessibility

Improvements to Core Web Vitals, crawlability, structured data, indexation, responsive behavior and WCAG accessibility. Recommendations can be delivered as an audit, implemented directly or handled as part of an ongoing engagement.

Integrations and automation

Connections between the website and the systems around it—including CRM platforms, lead flows, analytics, email tools, external APIs and internal data sources.

New websites and major rebuilds

When the existing platform cannot reasonably support the business, I can lead the technical delivery of a new Umbraco solution. Where suitable, the KindbergCo Platform reduces repetitive groundwork so more of the budget can go toward the functionality and experience specific to your business.

Because I’ve spent years building the systems behind marketing and sales, I can take on commercial requirements — CRM, lead capture, email automation — directly, without needing someone else to translate them into a technical brief.

Built around commercial requirements—not only technical tickets

For eight years, I worked directly alongside marketing, sales and senior management, building the systems those teams used to generate demand, manage leads and support growth.

That experience changes how I approach development.

A form is not merely a set of fields; it is part of a lead journey. A CRM integration is not complete because the API responds; the right information must reach the right people reliably. A fast website is valuable because it improves the experience, discoverability and commercial performance of the platform.

I will challenge weak requirements, identify unnecessary complexity and recommend the smallest solution that properly addresses the problem. The objective is not to maximize development hours. It is to make the platform more valuable to the business.

Proven through long-term ownership

Five years of continuous platform development — Infront, 2018–2023

At Infront, I spent five years taking direct responsibility for the company’s web platform while working closely with its Global Head of Sales and Global Head of Marketing.

The engagement included a complete rebrand, ongoing CMS development, campaign requirements, free-trial journeys, CRM integrations, analytics and connections between the website and the company’s financial technology platform.

This was not a website handed over after launch. It was a business platform developed continuously as the company, its positioning and its commercial requirements evolved.

That is the kind of relationship I am best suited to: close enough to understand the business, senior enough to work independently and accountable for what is delivered.

How we can work together

Full platform ownership

I build and continue to run the platform, similar to a fractional in-house developer. Best when the business needs one accountable senior person, but not a full-time hire.

Retainers start from five hours per month and can scale with your needs. Work can include scheduled priorities, responsive requests or a combination of both.

Defined improvement project

A focused engagement with a clear outcome—for example an Umbraco upgrade, CRM integration, performance initiative, accessibility improvement or new area of functionality.

I can take responsibility from technical discovery and scoping through implementation, release and handover.

New platform or major redevelopment

End-to-end technical delivery when the existing website has reached its limits or the business needs a stronger foundation.

This can include architecture, Umbraco implementation, integrations, performance, SEO, accessibility, deployment and post-launch support.

Typically a continuous open-ended agreement.

Pricing depends on scope and ongoing needs — a fixed price for defined project work, or a retainer rate for ongoing support, quoted once we’ve talked it through.

Is your website working as hard as your business does?

Send me a link to your current site, what isn’t working, and what you need it to do. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit and what I’d recommend.

Have a website or technical challenge to discuss?

Tell me what you are working with, what is currently getting in the way and what you want the platform to do better.

I will be happy to discuss the requirement, answer the initial technical questions and tell you honestly whether I am the right person to take it forward.
