Email marketing built on data, not guesswork

I help companies build better email marketing and retention systems by combining marketing strategy with hands-on technical implementation. The focus is not sending more emails — it is making email more relevant, more measurable, more automated, and properly connected to the rest of your platform.

My background is unusual for this field: several years in email, retention, lifecycle and acquisition marketing — on top of a career as a senior full-stack developer. Segmentation logic, data flows, tracking and API integrations get built, not handed to an IT backlog.

I have run campaigns and built marketing systems for eBay, CDON, Infront and Epteca, and spent a year as an acocunt manager at a large SaaS company in email marketing, managing 60+ Scandinavian brands on their email programs.

What super-targeted email can do

Lifecycle communications I architected at Epteca — travel emails timed and personalized to each customer's travel:

80 %
Open rate
40 %
Click-through rate
10 %
Conversion rate

What I can help you with

Customer segmentation & data

Relevance starts in the data. I design segmentation models on real behavioral and transactional data — and build the pipelines that keep them fresh: data mining, enrichment, profiling, and making customer data actually usable for marketers.

Lifecycle & customer journeys

Mapping and building the flows that reach customers at the right moment: welcome, onboarding, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back and reactivation. At CDON I built the post-purchase lifecycle system; at Epteca, journey-timed travel communications.

Automation & triggered campaigns

Event-driven email that responds to what customers actually do: trigger logic, campaign automation, A/B and multivariate testing frameworks, and the operational setup that keeps it all running without manual work.

Tracking, analytics & reporting

If you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it. Tracking implementation, attribution, and reporting that shows what email actually contributes — built from millions of data rows if that is what your business generates.

Integrations: email platform, CRM, CMS and shop

The technical plumbing that makes everything above possible. I connect platforms such as Oracle Responsys, Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp and MailerLite to websites, CRMs and e-commerce systems — APIs, webhooks, data syncs and custom logic. The platform matters less than the data flowing through it.

How we can work together

Email & retention audit
A structured review of your current setup: data quality, segmentation, lifecycle coverage, automation gaps, tracking and deliverability — ending in a prioritized, practical plan.

Implementation project
A defined build: a lifecycle program, a reactivation flow, a data integration, or a migration to a new platform. Scoped, delivered, documented.

Ongoing retainer
I run and develop the channel with you month by month — from 5 hours per month, scheduled or ad-hoc, with the same senior time as my development retainers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Oracle Responsys, Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp and MailerLite among others — and earlier in my career I spent a year at SmartFocus consulting for 60+ Scandinavian brands. I am deliberately platform-agnostic: the segmentation logic, data quality and lifecycle design matter far more than the tool that sends the email.

I build production-ready, responsive and accessible email templates, and I can handle campaign production. My core value is in the logic, data and automation behind the sends — so on brand copy and visual design I am equally happy to work alongside your copywriter or designer.

Yes — that is usually the point. As a senior .NET developer I build the integrations myself: APIs, webhooks, data syncs, tracking and custom logic between your email platform, CMS, CRM and e-commerce system. No waiting for a separate development team.

A structured review of data quality and list health, segmentation, lifecycle coverage (which customer moments you reach and which you miss), automation gaps, tracking and attribution, and deliverability basics. You get a prioritized plan you can execute — with me or without me.

An honest answer: it depends on your data and how relevant your communication can become. As reference points: the super-targeted lifecycle emails I architected at Epteca reached 80% open, 40% click-through and 10% conversion rates, and at eBay my campaign work raised engagement by 30%. I never promise numbers — but I always build the measurement to know what you got.

Core knowledge

Being a blend of an IT developer and a marketer, I believe it's my holistic approach to IT and business needs that sets me apart from most other developers. Given my programming skills, my jobs have always been quite heavy on the technical side, such as data mining, enrichment, and tons and tons of API implementations.

One notable advantage of my diverse skillset is my ability to seamlessly translate complex information between management, marketing, and IT teams. This dual proficiency streamlines communication and enhances collaboration across diverse teams.

A brief summary of my core knowledge:

  • Specializing in Microsoft technologies - C#.Net, MS SQL, etc

  • Strong technical knowledge

  • Retention marketing strategy, with a special focus on email marketing

  • Strong commercial understanding, weighing cost vs quality

  • Automation of marketing, processes, etc

  • Data integrations, data mining, and profiling

  • Brainstorming of new functionality as well as the implementation of such
